Classic But Not Boring

Durante el taller “Descubre Tu Estilo”, surgió una pregunta muy interesante: “¿Qué hacen cuando necesitan vestirse en apuro? ¿A donde van y compran algo?” y la verdad es que salir a comprar algo de imprevisto a veces funciona y otras veces uno termina mas frustrado de lo que estaba. Todas llegamos a la conclusión que comprar bajo presión nunca es la mejor decisión, porque la mayoría de veces terminamos comprando algo para salir del paso pero no siempre es una buena inversión. Si te surgió un evento o actividad en último momento, lo mejor es trabajar con piezas que ya tengas en el armario y ver como combinarlas.

Y esto fue lo que exactamente me paso días antes del evento; Primero, me dio el síndrome de toda chica fashionista con el síntoma mas conocido: Decir la frase: “¡no tengo nada que ponerme!”. Obviamente salí corriendo a ver que encontraba, y como era de esperarse nada me gustaba o nada me mataba por completo para dar el dinero así por así. Decidí adquirir unos zapatos nuevos (como pudieron ver en Instagram) me gustó lo divertido y estiloso que eran, así que no dudé en comprarlos. Salí de la tienda con la esperanza de llegar a mi casa y encontrar algo entre mi armario que me ayudará a resolver la situación. Ya mas calmada y decidida, me fui por lo básico y colorido que nunca falla: pantalón clásico con un top crochet brillante. Añadí un collar statement  de Ela con una onda tropical y veraniega, y listo. ¡Misión Cumplida! Logre un look formal para la presentación pero sin ser aburrido, manteniendo siempre mi estilo personal. 

During the workshop "Discover Your Style" an interesting questions came up: "what do you do when you are in a hurry to get ready and where do you go to buy something" and the truth is that buying something last minute sometime works and sometime you end up more frustrated than when you started.  We all came to the conclusion that buying something under pressure is never the best decision because you usually end up buying something that's not a good investment.  If you have an event or an activity come up at the last minute, the best thing to do is to work with what you have in your closer and see how you can combine it.

And that is exactly what happened to me a few days before the event.  First, I had the "I have nothing to wear" syndrome which all girls go through.  I obviously went out to see what I could find and as expected, everything I found was either too expensive or not something I liked.  I decided to buy a new pair of shoes (as you saw on instagram) which were fun and stylish, so I didn't think it twice... I just got them. I left the store with the hope of finding something to wear in my closet.  I got calm and determined to find an outfit and I did: I decided to wear a classic pair of pants with a bright crochet top.  I added an Ela statement piece that was very summer & tropical, and mission accomplished! I had an outfit that was formal and appropriated for the event, yet not boring and matched my personal style.
