Love Yourself On Valentine's Day

I must confess I used to disagree with the idea of Valentine's Day, because I've always believed that every day should be about love. After a while, I've found much more meaning to this date, many will say that it's an excuse of this new society to make us spend and consume more than we have, but I also believe that everyone has different ways of seeing things . For example, we have days to commemorate our mother, our father, to celebrate womanhood, the birth of Jesus, and even the secretaries have an "special holiday"; however with all the technology, the everyday bustle, the amount of work and setbacks sometimes we forget to tell to our love ones how much we love them and how grateful we are to have them around.

So I though, a day marked on the calendar to help us remember how nice it is to love and be loved it's not that bad. After 25 years celebrating this day with friends or former dates, I think I 've come to the conclusion that we must learn to love ourselves first, not just today but every day that God allows us to be alive. So put on that red lipstick, dare yourself to wear colors, change your hairstyle, take a chance and dress as you like, not for others but for you. To love ourselves is the key to love others.
